Have I Failed ? The Truth About Chasing Dreams

There are moments when everything becomes quiet…

and one question gets louder than everything else:

“Have I failed?”

Not out of emotion.

But out of reflection.

Looking Back at My Journey

I’m 30.

When I look at where I thought I would be… and where I am now –

There’s a gap.

Not a small one. A real one.

  • Financial pressure is still there
  • Stability feels incomplete
  • Some plans never worked out

And naturally, the question comes:

“Did things go wrong somewhere?”

Where Did the Momentum Go?

There was a time I had energy.
Clarity.
Confidence.

Then somewhere along the way:

  • Decisions didn’t work out
  • Focus got scattered
  • Time moved faster than expected

I didn’t notice it immediately.

But slowly…
momentum turned into confusion.

The Reality of Chasing Dreams

Chasing dreams is not a straight line.

It’s:

  • Starting with excitement
  • Hitting reality (money, responsibilities, expectations)
  • Adjusting constantly
  • And sometimes… losing direction in between

No one talks about this phase.

Because it doesn’t look like success.

The Weight of Responsibility

Dreams feel different when:

  • You have loans
  • You have limited income
  • You can’t afford long mistakes

At that point, every decision feels heavy.

It’s not just about passion anymore.

It’s about survival and progress at the same time.

So… Have I Failed?

If I look at certain outcomes—

Yes.

  • Some plans didn’t work
  • Some time was lost
  • Some opportunities were missed

But does that mean I have failed completely?

No.

What I Understand Now

Failure is not a single moment.

It’s only final when you stop moving.

What I have now that I didn’t have before:

  • Awareness of my mistakes
  • Clarity about what matters
  • A more realistic approach to life

I may have taken longer.

But I didn’t stop.

The Shift in Thinking

Earlier, I was chasing speed.

Now, I’m focusing on direction.

Earlier, I wanted quick success.

Now, I’m building something sustainable.

That change alone… matters.

If You’re Asking the Same Question

If you’re sitting somewhere thinking:

“Have I failed?”

Take a pause and look deeper.

Ask yourself:

  • Are you still trying?
  • Are you learning from your past?
  • Are you clearer than before?

If the answer is yes…

Then you haven’t failed.

You’ve just taken a longer road.

My Decision Going Forward

I’m not chasing perfection anymore.

I’m focusing on:

  • Consistency
  • Skill-building
  • Creating income with purpose

Slow, but steady.

Final Thought

So… have I failed?

Maybe in certain chapters.

But not in the full story.

Because I’m still here.

Still learning.

Still building.

Maybe This Is Not Failure

Maybe this is what real growth looks like:

  • Unplanned
  • Slower than expected
  • But stronger at the foundation

And maybe…

I’m not behind.

I’m just in the middle of becoming.
